Who we are

Dokan Khata is a business bookkeeping app for mobile shops in Bangladesh. This policy covers the app, dokankhata.app and web.dokankhata.app.

Data we collect

Account mobile number and password (hashed); shop name and address; customer names, phone numbers, sales, dues, expenses, repairs, stock and IMEI data you enter; product photos you take or upload; bKash/Nagad transaction IDs for subscriptions; basic device and crash data needed to run the app.

Camera permission

The camera is used only to scan barcodes and take product photos, and only when you choose to. It is not used for anything else.

SMS

Customer SMS after a sale is sent from our server through a Bangladeshi SMS gateway, which receives the customer number and message text. The app does not read your SMS.

Where data is stored and processors

Records are stored on Google Firebase (Google LLC); images and subscription data on our hosting server (Hostinger); the website may be served through Cloudflare. They process data only on our behalf. We never sell your data or use it for ads.

How we use data

To provide the service, show records and reports, verify subscriptions, security and support.

Security

All connections use HTTPS/TLS; only active admins of your shop can access its data.

Retention

Data is kept while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of a deletion request; payment records may be kept up to 5 years where law requires; backups are purged within 90 days.

Your rights

You can access, correct and delete your data. See /delete-account.

Children

The app is for business owners and not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect children’s data.

We will post changes on this page and in the app.
